Ann Landres's Advice

If I were asked to give what I consider the single most useful bit of advice for all humanity it would be this:Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life and when it comes, hold your head high, look it squerely in the eye, and say, ‘I will be bigger than you. You cannot defeat me.’
–Ann Landres
quoted in Life’s Greatest Lessons

Green on Experience

In the business world, everyone is paid in two coins: cash and experience. Take the experience first; the cash will come later.
–Harold Green

Shakespeare's Wisdom

Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none.
–William Shakespeare

The Road to Success

The road to success is not straight
There is a curve called failure
A loop called confusion
Speed bumps called friends
Red lights called enemies
Caution lights called family
you’ll have flats called jobs
But if you have determination
An engine called perseverance
Insurance called faith
A driver called GOD
You’ll make it to a place called SUCCESS!

Just Ask

A person who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; a person who never asks is a fool forever.
–Unknown

Rockne on Weakness

Build up your weaknesses until they become your strong points.
–Knute Rockne
1888-1931 American Football Coach

Tracy: Dream Big

All successful men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.
–Brian Tracy

I don’t think I need to add any justification for it, except to recommend Brian Tracy’s book, Goals. I bought an audio version of it and now I’m actually doing some of the action steps from it — I see a difference already. Plus, I subscribe to his Personal Success newsletter, which I think is very good.

Random Quote

Perhaps you’ve noticed, I’ve updated the Random Quote item by adding new quotes — most of them, to be exact. I’ve also included the author of the quote below it, as I think it’s important to know who said it. As I’m going to add new quotes to it, I’ll try to add the date if it’s known and add it as well.

I enjoy reading. I enjoy learning. I enjoy learning from the present and past leaders. A short quote sometimes teaches you more than a whole lecture, or even a book. That’s why I like them. I learn from them.

If you have a nice quote, post it below and I might include it in the Random Quote. If you haven’t read my short bio, my own quote (or motto) is: live (smart), learn (continuously), and enjoy (have fun). How about that? I’ve just composed it, by the way, my original was: live, learn and have fun. That’s the theme of this main blog (at least that’s my goal); the other blogs that I have are on software-engineering (my career), and on investing (that’s where my money goes).

Words of Knowledge

If you always do
What you always did
You will always get
What you always got.

WisdomTips.com

I think that’s a pretty good quote, which I recently came across at WisdomTips.com (a pretty good, usefull site, containing a lot of useful tips).
